5 Reasons to Love LED Lights
LED lights are much more environmentally friendly than other lighting systems. They are a bit more expensive, but they are much more sustainable and come with a variety of power-saving features as well. Keep reading this blog post as we uncover some of the benefits of eco-friendly outdoor lighting.
1. They Consume Less Energy
The obvious benefit is that LED lights are much more energy-efficient than other bulbs and can run much longer using a fraction of the energy. They also are quite bright and have good quality of light distribution, meaning fewer lights are needed to illuminate a space.
2. They Contain No Toxic Elements
Another one of the main benefits of eco-friendly outdoor lighting is the non-presence of toxic elements. When disposed of in landfills, LED lights won’t leak harmful chemicals into the environment as fluorescent lights do.
3. They Last Longer
Whether used for exterior lighting or in your home’s interior, LED bulbs don’t need to be replaced as often as other bulbs do – they can last up to 100,000 hours, or eleven years, without being turned off. If you turn them on 50 per cent of the time, you can have a single LED bulb working for up to 22 years. The less you need to replace them, the less waste you’re creating.
4. They are Durable
LEDs not only last longer than other bulbs, but they’re more durable overall as well. Other bulbs can get damaged because of voltage changes, but LED lights aren’t affected because they’re shock-resistant and can handle the fluctuations.
5. They are Reliable
Eco-friendly outdoor lights are built to handle any kind of weather, so regardless if it’s freezing cold outside or if the light is under the blazing sun, your LED lights will still work. The quality of light also remains the same no matter what the weather conditions are. Other bulbs, like fluorescent bulbs, produce different kinds of light that can be affected by lower temperatures, but LED lights are unaffected.
